Atlanta guitarist/singer/leader Jack Sobel has metamorphosized from a talented songwriter into something of a simmering solo genius. This is his/their 10th LP the public has way too little awareness of, and recent efforts have proved particularly remarkable excursions into his deep end of the moody/broody-yet-beautiful post-punk pool. BSL’s bearings don’t change, as they spin another decidedly gray but not gloomy, glistening-guitar-centric, atmospheric mini-masterpiece, traversing between The Chameleons (two of whom appeared on previous BSL LPs) and Joy Division, with space for The Church, Into Paradise, and Straightjacket Fits’ Melt. “Fragile” is a new “Intrigue in Tangiers,” with a colossal “I’ve no power to fight” chorus chord progression; and the late Martin Hannett himself could hardly improve on “Can’t Keep Me Quiet.” That track and the also up-tempo “Wishful” are especially invigorating, but it’s the apprehensive lushness, again, that’s the indelible attraction that’ll get you again and again. “Just swear not to haunt me in my dreams,” he sings on “Case my Mind.” He’ll haunt ours instead. [Atlanta, Ga] – Wanderland Music Publishing and Black Swan Lane are excited to announce the release of their new digital single, Scream For Me. On April 26th, the release will be available everywhere in the world.
Scream For Me was written over a period of two years. The track was intended to be on our November, 2019 full length album, Vita Eterna, but we felt the mastered track needed some more work and we are happy we held it back. It is now ready for the world. The song is seductive, melancholic, powerful and atypical but has all the elements of a Black Swan Lane song you would come to expect. Scream For Me was written by Jack Richard Sobel and includes several wonderful musicians – Dave Fielding on the ebow, Krissy Vanderwoude on backing vocals, Jason Monseur on drums and John Hamm on strings.
Described as having that classic post-punk, alternative Manchester sound, listeners will appreciate the layered, textured guitars reminiscent of The Chameleons, Joy Division, The Smiths and Kitchens of Distinction along with the soothing, yet darkly provocative vocal tracks laying on top.

Introducing Black Swan Lane’s New Album, Vita Eterna Official Release Everywhere On November 26, 2019
[Atlanta, GA – October 9, 2019] Wanderland Music Publishing is excited to announce the release of Black Swan Lane’s much-anticipated eighth album, Vita Eterna, available everywhere on November 26, 2019.
Vita Eterna is composed of thirteen deeply moving tracks written over a two-year period. Lead vocalist, musician, and primary songwriter Jack Richard Sobel and lyricist Alessandro Dematteis are joined by band members John Kolbeck, Jason Monseur, Jerry Tew and, John Hamm. The album features legendary Chameleons UK guitarist, Dave Fielding, who plays electric guitar and lends his signature E- bow on several tracks. Backing vocals include the musically diverse talents of Whimsical recording artist Krissy Vanderwoude, recording artist Lauren Fay, and Gretchen Copeland.
Described as having that classic alternative Manchester sound, listeners will appreciate Black Swan Lane’s distinctive guitar style balanced with soothing, yet darkly evocative vocals. Vita Eterna, is a melodic existential journey exploring the meaning of life and the desire for eternal life.
Italian photographer and artist Andrea Gottardi contributed the cover art, which perfectly complements both the album’s name and music. Andrea also provided the cover art for Black Swan Lane’s highly acclaimed sixth album, A Moment Of Happiness.

We are very happy to announce that we have secured our Fall 2019 album cover and name. In addition to recording the album, we have been looking through thousands of photos for the perfect picture and it all came together this week. There is a huge Italian influence that runs throughout the album and it made sense to go back to our great friend in Italy, Andrea Gottardi, who also contributed the cover for a moment of happiness, our 6th release and my personal favorite. Alessandro Dematteis, a co-writer on the album is contributing the back cover which is still in progress. We were headed to mixing but have decided to do a bit more recording and polishing on the album and we have pushed mixing with Jeff Tomei back to the end of July. The good news is that we are still on track for a Fall 2019 worldwide release and we will be announcing the exact release date in August. Currently, we have 15 tracks and we are flipping coins to decide how to get the album to 13 songs. While still somewhat ethereal, Vita Eterna will have a harder edge on most songs and dueling guitars that will blow you away. Also exciting is that in addition to our regular lineup, Vita Eterna, will feature three female backup vocalists for the first time (Krissy Vanderwoude, Lauren Fay and Gretchen Copeland.) Our eighth album has taken two years to accomplish and produce and we can’t wait to share this great endeavor with all of our endearing fans. It’s also a pleasure to announce that Mr. Alessandro Dematteis will be taking over management and promotional duties for BLACK SWAN LANE.
