http://www.oxfordmail.co.uk/news/15664956.Didcot_pylon_becomes_unlikely_cover_star_for_US_rockers__39__new_album/   MOST people know it from journeys to Tesco, but a Didcot pylon has now become the unlikely cover star of a new rock album. An amateur photographer's photo of the pylon, which sits opposite the junction of Tamar Way and Abingdon Road, features on the front cover of Under My Fallen Sky, the seventh album by American band Black Swan Lane which was released on Wednesday. The atmospheric image was chosen by lead singer Jack Sobel who spotted it on the Facebook...

http://www.sicmagazine.net/12209/black-swan-lane-under-my-fallen-sky/ Coming in from the cold.  Black Swan Lane return with their first long-player since 2014 and it has been a challenge for some fans to keep a lid on expectations. We’re talking Blade Runner 2049 levels of anticipation here. Would such feverish echelons be met? Read on, but if you just want the three word review:_ BUY THIS RECORD. Black Swan Lane have always explored the boundaries between shoegaze, dreampop and post-punk. Along the way they’ve drawn comparison with some of Manchester’s most...

Goodbye, John.

John Lever 1961 - 2017 Our friend and musical icon, John Lever, has died.  Journalist John Robb wrote: "Lever was the engine room for some of the greatest songs of the post-punk northern eighties." I couldn't have said that better. His strength and stamina behind the drums was both outstanding and impressive. I don't know anyone who could have pulled off playing a demanding Black Swan Lane set and then a Chameleons set consecutively, almost every day for a month. The guy was a machine, but he also had a huge heart. He recently sent me his only copy of a limited vinyl re-release of the Chameleons,...

Click the you tube link below to view the new live video of Relax and Breathe. RELAX AND BREATHE LIVE VIDEO YOU TUBE Never give up. If you don’t know, in addition to music, I also coach youth soccer. Never give up is our cheer before each game, and this year, our team had an undefeated season. Never give up has applied to all facets of my life, including music. Especially, music. Having done many albums before BSL and currently working on a seventh Black Swan Lane record, writers block tends to set in. The ideas are not as plentiful as they used to be and when they are present, we tend to be hyper-critical...

There are a lot of Black Swan Lane supporters, but there are a handful of people who have tirelessly promoted our band, and Kelvin Knight was one of those people. Kelvin played, lived and breathed music and he genuinely wanted to help bands he felt an emotional connection with and wanted nothing in return. As of late, in addition to his admiration for BSL, he has been promoting some great UK bands - Esper Scout, Lazy Eye and The New Southern Electric. He had severe health problems for years, but came alive when he was able to connect to a certain song or band. He was also humble and showed...
