Staring Now. . .

Posted by: Jack    Tags:      Posted date:  July 18, 2011  |  3 Comments

The new 2011 BSL album has arrived. Early :) Black Swan Lane is happy and proud to announce the August 2011 release, Staring Down The Path Of Sound. We've been working on this album for more than a year and we are truly excited about the results. Our returning friends will notice that this release sounds a little different from our previous albums. We believe that this is the natural evolution of the BSL sound and we're proud of where this process has taken us. One of the most noticeable differences is the presence of former Interscope recording artist (and ex-Messenger...

Closer…

Staring Down The Path Of Sound is officially done... It's been about a year since the release of our third recording, Things You Know and Love, and we have just completed our fourth full length album in the studio. Staring Down The Path of Sound will be released at the beginning of August 2011 and we have spent more time recording and mixing this one than any other album in our history. After mastering, I felt a bit melancholy about the whole thing. After all, we cut a total of 19 tracks off this one and although we are left with 15 great songs, I kept wondering if we made all the right...

I wanted to introduce Lauren Fay to everyone. She is a former Interscope Recording Artist and ex-Messenger alum. She has officially joined the wonderful world of Black Swan Lane and added some wonderful vocal tracks to the new album coming out in August. I'm sure we will be working on new stuff soon together as soon as the dust settles around us. Cheers, Lauren.   Jack BSL XX XX

The recording process has finally come to an end after almost a year. We have finalized 15 new tracks and we cut 19 which we hope to get back to again in the not so distant future...We will be off to master the album in Atlanta, GA in the next couple weeks and our goal is to get it released to the public by this August, 2011. The fourth idea for the title of the new album, that has stuck, is Staring Down The Path Of Sound and seemed appropriate given the amount of work we put in to make the sound on this one spot on. I have been posting some tracks as the song of the month each month on here,...

New Black Swan Album Coming Soon !!!

Posted by: Jack    Tags:      Posted date:  December 18, 2009  |  1 Comment

I have spent the last year writing music and lyrics and putting ideas down in our studio. 2009 has been a trying year, so maybe it is no surprise that the music has taken on a harder, more sincere sound. We are now in the mixing stage and working with Jeff Tomei who was responsible for the Siamese Dream album by The Smashing Pumpkins as well as several other great projects along the way. We should be finishing up with the mixes in the next couple of weeks and then we are off to master the album. The entire project should be completed by late February 2010.Watch for the album, Things You Know and Love,...

Most fables begin with ‘Once upon a time…’. Ours begins with ‘Twice’. Twice upon a time there was a project called Black Swan Lane (for this is the second BSL album, this time named after the legendary Sun and The Moon). Twice now that notorious band has existed, rising from the ashes of the even more legendary Chameleons. Twice now The Chameleons have split in two – rent, seemingly beyond hope of repair, because of personal issues. Before we go further, let’s remind ourselves; this is not a Sun and The Moon album review. This is not The Sun and The MoonThis is Black Swan Lane. This...

Jack and Mark started the recordings off in early 2008 and it was originally to be titled “dead.” It was to be an album that expressed a sense of finality, doom and an end. However, after the two Andys (Andy Whitaker and Andy Clegg of The Sun and the Moon...
