I have quite a bit of time on my hands currently recovering from knee surgery and my plans of playing the new album live have been sidetracked for a while, so I decided to do a new mix of one of our new tracks. I wanted to give you all a small gift of appreciation with this new mix of A Walk In The Cold which I hope you enjoy listening to.  I’ve been a bit absent lately from responding to everyone on social media, however, I really need to thank everyone for the outpouring of support and love for the seventh record and BLACK SWAN LANE in general. It has been quite humbling to get nods for album of the year and songs of the year. There are so many around the world in so many countries who have embraced our sound and who have taken the time to share with so many others. Too many wonderful people to name, but you know who you are. 

I chose this track for several reasons and not because it is currently freezing outside and I can’t fucking walk. Instead, close your eyes and feel. Listen to the layers and complexities of what BLACK SWAN LANE is that lies behind all the big ethereal electric guitars. How we build and construct a song before we layer the “shoegazy BSL guitars” over the top.

Go into 2018 with love in your heart and soul. Be nice to people and animals. Look at the earth and see how beautiful it is. Look and accept people for their idiosyncrasies and differences. Go out of your way to just smile at someone as you pass someone in the street. Help someone who is having difficulties in life no matter what you are going through. Let someone know how special they are and be thankful. I’ve learned that life can be absolute hell, but there is always something to be positive about. Fuck the news and fuck arguing with each other. Don’t sweat the small stuff and as Spike Lee said, “Do the right thing.”
