http://www.sicmagazine.net/12209/black-swan-lane-under-my-fallen-sky/ Coming in from the cold.  Black Swan Lane return with their first long-player since 2014 and it has been a challenge for some fans to keep a lid on expectations. We’re talking Blade Runner 2049 levels of anticipation here. Would such feverish echelons be met? Read on, but if you just want the three word review:_ BUY THIS RECORD. Goodbye, John.

John Lever 1961 - 2017 Our friend and musical icon, John Lever, has died.  Journalist John Robb wrote: "Lever was the engine room for some of the greatest songs of the post-punk northern eighties." I couldn't have said that better. His strength and stamina behind the drums was both outstanding and impressive. I don't know anyone who could have pulled off playing a demanding Black Swan Lane set and then a Chameleons set consecutively, almost every day for a month. The guy was a machine, but he also had a huge heart. He recently sent me his only copy of a limited vinyl re-release of the Chameleons,...

Relax and Breathe Live in Atlanta

Click the you tube link below to view the new live video of Relax and Breathe. RELAX AND BREATHE LIVE VIDEO YOU TUBE Never give up. If you don’t know, in addition to music, I also coach youth soccer. Never give up is our cheer before each game, and this year, our team had an undefeated season. Never give up has applied to all facets of my life, including music. Especially, music. Having done many albums before BSL and currently working on a seventh Black Swan Lane record, writers block tends to set in. The ideas are not as plentiful as they used to be and when they are present, we tend to be hyper-critical...

Goodbye, Kelvin.

There are a lot of Black Swan Lane supporters, but there are a handful of people who have tirelessly promoted our band, and Kelvin Knight was one of those people. Kelvin played, lived and breathed music and he genuinely wanted to help bands he felt an emotional connection with and wanted nothing in return. As of late, in addition to his admiration for BSL, he has been promoting some great UK bands - Esper Scout, Lazy Eye and The New Southern Electric. He had severe health problems for years, but came alive when he was able to connect to a certain song or band. He was also humble and showed...

The Big Take-Over Magazine’s 2014 Review Of A Moment Of Happiness

Posted by: Jack    Tags:      Posted date:  January 2, 2015  |  No comment

“BSL, show that 2013’s watershed, The Last Time in Your Light, was no fluke…there’s lovely comparisons, still, between the likes of “Dust” and “Below the Sound” with some of Dave Fielding’s prettiest tones (e.g. “Perfume Garden”), but some of the dusty, dusky mystery of The Church circa Starfish seems better comparison nowadays. And still there’s plenty of spirituality, without bombast, whether on acoustic tracks such as “Pretty in Tears” and “Body and Soul” (not the Joy Division song) or the darker, meaner “Lost for You” and “DNA” which bite like...

2014 Album Of The Year / NMB US/UK

Posted by: Jack    Tags:      Posted date:  January 2, 2015  |  No comment

NMB Management UK / US September 2014  BLACK SWAN LANE ..."A Moment Of Happiness" (CD/Download) Wanderland Music / BMI ************************************************************************** Two years in a row ? Are you kidding me ?....... 2013's "Last time in your light" was my album of the year. It would have been easy for BSL to repeat the magic of that album, they haven't. What they have done is make a more challenging album, an album you need to listen to a few times and REALLY listen - then once it gets hold it doesn't let go. 'Dust' has a hook that runs through it and draws...
